Our Blog Dope of the Week this week comes to us straight off the television. Bad Girls: Love Games and BGC 10: Atlanta co-star, Andre “Dre P.” is dropping a new album, LG4, on July 4th and the first single “Mona Lisa” is making the case for a hot project to follow. After running into him at an event last week, we had the chance to talk to him a little bit about the LG4, “Mona Lisa”, and his plans for the future… Enjoy and #MaxxOut !!!
So your single “Mona Lisa” is poppin right now… Explain where you got the concept for the video.
I got the concept of the video off of inspiration from Leonardo DA Vin-chi. Davinchi was an artistic genius and displayed his work from a different, unique perspective. I wanted to show my music fans my versatility and artistic skill through my eyes. Showing the world my version of Mona Lisa. The ideal perfect woman, I’m also a very humorous individual so I wanted the video to be fun and happy. Showcasing my character. letting the fans get to know Dre P.
You had Stephanie from BGC 10 in the video and it got kinda saucy. Was it weird bringing your natural chemistry to the camera in this way?
It was not weird at all. Of course not lmao. Obviously we were well known for “getting it in.” Every time you saw us we was bumpin an grindin. I couldn’t have had a better person in the video as Mona Lisa. Were so used to the cameras on us, that the video was a piece of cake.

Is “Mona Lisa” part of a larger project? Drop date?
Yes! It actually was an experiment on my latest mixtape “Andre The Giant 2” A2. It released April 2, 2012. It got such a good response we went ahead and got it mastered purchased the exclusives and recently shot the video. Its now the first single off of my new album “Love, Live Grind 4 Ever” LG4 set to drop July 4th this year. Make sure you get a copy on ITunes.
In the words of Andre Parr, who is Dre P?
Dre P. ….. a young hungry passionate “Fly Guy”. Very wise from the experience but still new to the success. A soon to be entertainment mogul, a voice to the ladies and face to those who refuse to give up. Very motivated apprentice of my mother. I feel there is no limit or line for Dre P. its nothing I cant do or figure out how to do and accomplish. Prideful but a man of the Lord. Im always “Goo”. God. Overseas. Opportunity. God is always overseeing my opportunity and life. I’m good always, nothing to worry about because its in the hands of the Lord.
Who are your musical inspirations?
My musical inspirations are Lil Wayne because of his grind and unwillingness to quit. He believes in himself when nobody else does. Drake for his magnificent transition from the screen to the industry, however Ive been doing music much longer than TV. 2 chainz another person that refused to give up. 2 pac another legend. Rhianna, because shes not scared. She will drop a pop single and at the same time drop something for the streets. i.e Pour Up and Diamond.
How did you get into being an artist?
Bangin on trash cans senior year in High School. Just having fun and experimenting. Then I ran into Shawn from Boyz II Men, he told me I had something so I ran with it. A year later I was doing Amateur Night At Harlem’s Apollo and free-styling on 106 n Parks commercial break. Havent looked back since. 8 mixtapes later.

I Maxx Out on LIFE!! Taking advantage of every god given opportunity. Not being scared to meet ppl and build relationships. Clothes and my fly. Image is everything. After that would be music. I definitely Maxx Out in the studio.
